I got up a little earlier than usual, arrived at Robinson about 6:50 a.m. and sunrise was just happening. And to the west I got a shot of the moon, too!

Sunrise. I don't know what that bright glob and straight streak are about.

It was nice to have some clouds in the sky this morning making for a beautiful sunrise. I was ready to head home from my walk about 8 a.m. and looking east I could see the clouds moving across the sun making it appear and disappear quickly. I walked to the 4th bridge and decided to go a little farther. I could see in the distance a bird sitting atop a tall pole that was off the pathway. I could not get any closer, but I thought it might be a hawk. I took a few pictures and walked further down the path a little ways until I decided to turn around and begin my walk back. I am just so enamored by all the new plantings at Robinson Preserve. They started blooming in late February, early March and each day I see them they are more and more beautiful. Wildflowers, perennials, some native, many thousands on many acres. I love the randomness of most of the pictures I've been taking of them. I like to let the camera ( Read more... )

I've been getting out quite a bit lately and what I'm most pleased about is my early morning walks at Robinson. I've been getting up at 6:30, doing the essentials and heading out. I'm there by 7 a.m., just as the sun is coming up, walk for an hour, then home. I feel good about getting this exercise and hope it strengthens me and makes my hips ( Read more... )

I love when I can capture the action! I wasn’t disappointed the other morning at Robinson Preserve when I saw a territorial dispute between two Tricolored Herons! Half way through the battle, I thought it was over, but then the pursuer wasn’t quite satisfied and the chase continued until finally the intruder flew away. On Tuesday I tripped and fell. I am banged up and sore on my right side, and my head hitting the corner is what stopped me from sliding further, but nothing broken, at least on my body. I’m always thinking of worst case scenarios. Then when it doesn’t turn out so bad, I am uplifted or relieved. I don’t think of myself as a negative person, but maybe I am since I think this way.
